Welcome to Cotswold Family Threads. These terms outline the basis on which I provide family history research, document digitisation, and related services.

1. Services
Cotswold Family Threads offers:

Family history and genealogy research using traditional records and DNA evidence.

Digitisation and storage for preservation of family documents, photos, and memorabilia.

Optional visits to local archives on behalf of clients (fees apply)
Each project is bespoke and agreed upon in advance with clear expectations and scope.

2. Payments & Fees

All fees will be agreed in writing before work begins.

Some services may require a deposit.

Payment methods will be confirmed via email.

3. Results

While every effort is made to provide accurate and meaningful results, research outcomes are not guaranteed.

Historical records may be missing, incomplete, or contain errors beyond our control.

No liability is accepted for conclusions drawn based on incomplete data.

4. Privacy & Data

Client information and research data will be handled with care and stored securely.

Personal data will never be shared or published without permission.

A full privacy policy is available upon request and will be published on the website.

5. Document Handling
If original documents or photos are provided for digitisation:

Every care will be taken to preserve their condition.

However, clients send items at their own risk. If concerned, please retain originals and send copies instead.

6. Intellectual Property

Research reports, charts, and written materials created by Cotswold Family Threads remain the property of the business until payment is received in full.

Clients are welcome to use all final reports for personal or non-commercial use.

7. Cancellations & Delays

Clients may cancel at any time before research begins.

If work has started, a proportionate fee will be charged based on time spent.

Cotswold Family Threads reserves the right to delay work in the event of illness or family emergency, with notice provided.
